Transparency hackathon is the child of a courtship between Open Alliance, Access NG and Budgit and will be held at Colab in kaduna. The Hackathon is aimed at promoting ideas or innovations that will encourage transparency in Governance. Open Alliance seeks to address transparency issues and also bridge information gap in government. It works on Open Government partnership in Nigeria. The base principles of OGP is using technology to make government better by supporting teams of young brilliant minds who will create tools that can aid the government, citizens and civil society to achieve transparency goals.
The other major partner Budgit, a company that specializes in demystifying government finance expenditure for the everyday Nigerian. BudgIT is a civic startup that liberates budgets and public data from an
inactive state into a more engaging format mostly through infographics
and interactive application with the aim of improving civic discussion
and institutional reforms.
Colab the proposed venue is Kaduna’s first innovation hub and co-working space It seeks to
provide a nurturing environment for entrepreneurs and innovators in
