You can also support by paying for a number of kids to attend as schorlaship. Course objectives: Design, create and print a 3D Modelusing 123D Design, Blender and a 3D Printer. There is an intense hype in the technology world about 3D Modelling and Printing, the opportunities it presents to our highly dynamic world. The purpose of this course is to introduce participants to the basic fundamentals of 3D modelling using 123D Design and Blender; and 3D printing using an available plug and play machine.
This course exposes them to modelling technologies that will be useful in a professional engineering and/or design setting. The skills students learn during this workshop will enable them to make simple 3D models, print them, and then have enough understanding to continue exploring a software package that is free, accessible, and based on the same paradigms as more advanced professional modelling software.
In this course, participants will have the opportunity to learn about various applications of 3D printing to society, overview of softwares and device needed for the future. The following key topics will be covered during the one day Master Class: 3D Modelling and 3D printing, Overview of 3D Modelling, Hardware and Software for 3D Modelling and Printing, Modelling with 123D Design, Modelling with Blender, Project 1: Model a Simple Egg Cup Building Block, Project 2: Model a Text and Print with Blender, Learners are required to bring their laptops.
